Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about going solar in Costa Rica. Do not see your question? Ask us in your free consultation.

Getting started

Book a free consultation. We visit your location, look at how your property uses energy, and design a system around it.

Yes. The consultation is free and without obligation. You only move forward if the design makes sense for you.

We work with homes and businesses across Costa Rica. Contact us with your location and we will confirm.

We can help you in English, Spanish and German.

Systems and batteries

Yes. Hybrid systems co-exist with your existing electrical system, so you keep what you have.

A high-capacity battery storage system, planned as part of your design, carries your home after the sun goes down.

With battery backup, the systems we design keep your essential loads running when the grid goes down.

That is one of the options we design for. We size the panels, inverter and batteries to match how you want to live.

Solar canopies and parking lots

A solar canopy is a raised structure that holds solar panels over a parking area, driveway or walkway. It makes power and gives shade at the same time.

It means covering a large parking lot with rows of solar canopies so the lot works like a small solar farm, producing power for the business next to it.

Hotels, resorts, shopping centers, offices, schools, farms and communities with parking space and a high electricity bill.

Yes. Charging points can be added under the canopy and powered by the panels above.

Cost, savings and financing

It depends on the size of the system, whether it includes batteries and the type of roof or structure. After a free site visit and a review of your bills, we give you a custom proposal with the full price.

Savings depend on your current bill, how much power you use during the day and the space available for panels. Your proposal shows expected production and savings. Results vary by property and are not guaranteed.

Return on investment depends on your electricity rates, your usage and design choices such as batteries. We go through the numbers with you before you decide.

Ask us during your consultation and we will tell you which options are available for your project.

Grid connection and permits

Yes. Many of our systems are grid-tied or hybrid, so you keep your utility connection and add solar and battery backup on top.

Requirements depend on the type and size of the system and on your utility. We guide you through the process so you know what is needed before installation.

Rules for exporting power and net metering are set by Costa Rican regulation and your utility, and they can change. We review what applies to your property during the design.

Installation, maintenance and warranty

Timing depends on system size and site conditions. Most homes take far less time than a commercial or canopy project. We confirm a schedule in your proposal.

Very little. Panels have no moving parts, so periodic cleaning and a system check are usually enough, especially during the dry season when dust builds up.

Panels, inverters and batteries come with manufacturer warranties that vary by brand and model. We share the exact terms for your system in the proposal.

Yes. Modern inverters let you follow production and consumption from your phone, so you can see how your system performs.

In most cases yes. We design systems with room to grow, so you can add capacity as your needs change.

Quality panels are built for heat, heavy rain and humidity. We choose equipment and mounting suited to your location, including coastal and high-wind sites.

Design and installation

Panel configuration, inverter configuration and high-capacity battery backup planning, all based on a visit to your property.

We do. Based on your custom design we install the panels, the battery storage system and the inverter.

Special vehicle batteries and products

Yes. We supply LiFePO4 batteries for golf carts in 48V 100Ah with fast charge options, replacing old lead-acid batteries with modern lithium technology.

We stock LiFePO4 batteries for forklifts in 80V and 96V 100Ah models, plus batteries for robots, AGVs and other industrial equipment.

Yes. We offer marine batteries in 72V and 96V 100Ah with IP65 waterproofing, long cycle life and high reliability for boats and water-based vehicles.

The Landscape Packing Unit is a complete solar solution designed for special landscape and outdoor applications. It combines solar panels, battery storage and inverter components for mobile, outdoor and off-site installations.
